A Chewbacca chocolate donut, you must try
By Melissa Gill
In a galaxy far far away in Las Vegas, we celebrate Star Wars Day. Escape the dark side at a popular donut shop, Pinkbox, and harness your gaming skills like a Jedi inside the adult arcade at AREA15, Emporium. Also, if two Jedis want to wed with the Force, The Little Vegas Wedding Chapel will be offering a special package for couples to say “Yoda One For Me.”
Do or Donut, There is No Try
Pinkbox, a local favorite for creative, sweet treats, will be selling donuts decorated like Star Wars characters. On May the Fourth, fans can buy chocolate bars that look like Chewbacca, a glazed Princess Leia shell with cookies resembling her famous hair buns, chocolate donuts decorated like Ewoks and chocolate cakes dressed with mint buttercream, mint icing, candy decor and Oreo ears that mirrors Yoda. Pinkbox is too delicious for our own good–”It’s a trap!”
The Emporium Strikes Back
Inside AREA15, The Emporium arcade and bar will give guests dressed up as Star War characters ten free tokens for game play. And the Star Wars pinball machine will be free throughout May fourth. For those looking for a good drink, they will be offering Star Wars-themed cocktails to keep you in hyperdrive. With a good drink, “The Force will be with you, always.”
“Til Death Star Do Us Part”
For couples who are huge Star Wars fans, The Little Vegas Wedding Chapel offers a Star Wars holiday package, “Yoda One for Me,” which includes the couple’s choice of Star Wars themed music for the entrance and recessional and an officiant who will perform the ceremony with popular quotes from the epic fantasy such as “‘til Death Star do us part,” “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away,” “the FORCE proved strong in this relationship, and “I love you. I Know.” I don’t think they could come up with any more amazing Star Wars puns, even if they must.
The package also includes a unity sand ceremony with options like Darksaber Black & Jedi Knight Yellow or Sith Red & Skywalker Blue, and also bouquets and boutonnieres coordinated with the theme.
For photos, newlyweds receive a complimentary picture of themselves edited into a Star Wars scene. A round trip ride in a limousine, 15 digital images by a professional photographer and an officiated marriage license also come with this package.
Up to ten guests may attend this special ceremony. A “Yoda One for Me” wedding celebration costs $549 pretax.
