Cara Mund - Miss America 2018

Cara Mund (born December 8, 1993) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Bismarck, North Dakota. In June 2017, she was crowned Miss North Dakota 2017. On September 10, 2017, she was crowned Miss America 2018 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

 

What's your favorite activity off the strip?

Touring Red Rock Canyon or the Hoover Dam.

 

What's your favorite activity on the strip?

Admiring the fountains at the Bellagio or catching a show. My current favorite show is Michael Jackson: One at the Mandalay Bay.

 

What's your favorite Vegas restaurant?

The Sugar Factory located in the Fashion Show Mall.

 

What's your favorite Vegas business?

Caesars Entertainment, because you can't go to Vegas and not be entertained.

 

Do you have a funny Vegas story you can share?

When I was 10 years old or around that age, the Miss America competition was held in Las Vegas. After the show, I got in the elevator with Mario Lopez who was the host that year. Although he didn't know who I was at the time, I reminded him 14 years later, when I went on his talk show as Miss America, that he shared an elevator with a young future Miss America.
