Where to eat and drink around Las Vegas this week

This week, Tasty Tuesday tries Wine Night at Jing, says where’s the Money, Baby and “Catch”es brunch vibes.



Tuesday’s Wine Night at JING

Every Tuesday head to Jing Las Vegas  at Downtown Summerlin for Wine Night from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A rotating roster of vineyards presents a different label each week with three wines priced at $12 each. Chef Thomas Griese creates two dishes to complement these wines, also priced at $12 each. It is a mix-and-match lover’s dream. Some of the pairings have included a 2019 Cabernet Blanc paired with Scallop en Croute and Butter Lettuce Cups or a 2018 Cabernet Noir paired with Filet Mignon Skewer and Bella Farms Duck Breast.


Money, Baby at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

Gearing up for football season, Money, Baby! at Virgin Hotels combines sports, food, entertainment and nightlife into one concept. This is the cure for those who are fatigued on ultra nightclubs or the average sportsbook, blending the best parts of both concepts. Kick back and watch the action on more than 200 HDTVs providing a 360-degree sports viewing experience.


Conceived by Food Network star Beau MacMillan, the menu can be enjoyed as either an accompaniment to cheering on your favorite team or as a night-out experience. Don’t miss the Home Wrecker, an 18-inch all-beef hot dog, available Chicago-style, reuben, bahn mi, or Boss Hog with barbecue braised pork and queso; also the jumbo hot wings can be tossed in TRUFF hot sauce.


Money, Baby also excels are non-bar foods like the outstanding Bone-in Veal Parmigiana with smoked bacon marinara, fresh mozzarella and parmigiano reggiano; and designer desserts like the MB Millionaires Chocolate Tart with chocolate milk crumb crust, salted caramel and dark chocolate ganache, with what else, but a faux $100 bill accent.


Catch Brunch at Aria Las Vegas

L.A./New York celebrity hotspots Catch brings its sought-after weekend brunch to its Las Vegas location. Available Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., this is a standout option for those looking for a decadent sushi brunch experience with plenty of other options for those who also may want other types of brunch foods.

Here’s how to tackle this brunch. Start with cold options like the Truffle Sashimi with tuna, Hamachi, chili ponzu, caviar and black truffle purée. Then, bounce over to a sweet bite with the Anytime Waffle Tower created with maple, milk chocolate and raspberry ice cream, chocolate ganache, raspberry jam and toasted almonds. Followup could include the Tuna Poke Bowl made with avocado, tomato, sour apple, pineapple, yuzu- chili, brown rice and crispy taro; or the Coconut Kale Chicken Salad with poached organic chicken, heirloom tomato, roasted sweet potato, quinoa, avocado and shallot vinaigrette.


If you aren’t going the brunch cocktail route, try the ultimate wake up, a Toasted Almond Coffee, prepared with Califia Farms almond milk, roasted almonds, vanilla and espresso; or the Eye Opener, a fresh juice with ginger, lemon, orange and cayenne.
