In May, there are many upcoming events we’re anticipating, including a pop-up sports lounge, the Scholar in Residence’s lecture, Majestic Repertory Theatre’s latest production and new Italian dishes at a local favorite.
“Crimson at Knight” Pop-Up Sports Lounge
Debuting on Friday, May 7, Red Rock Resort and Vegas Golden Knights unveil an immersive (21 years +) sports pop-up lounge, “Crimson at Knight.” The entrance way will be decorated in the likeness of the Knight helmet down an ice hallway leading aficionados into the “Fortress.” Snap photos with a life-size Fleury goalie for your social feeds, “Golden Misfits” can order an icy “Beer & Seltzer” party tub of 24 beers and seltzers.
Two specialty cocktails will be available: “The Frosted Puck,” made with Jack Daniels, sugar, angostura bitters and applewood smoke; and “The Fleury,” crafted with Grey Goose Essences Strawberry and Lemongrass, lemon and Bud Light Lemonade. The puck drops at Crimson on Friday, May 7 and the Knight lounge will be running every Friday and Saturday starting at 6 p.m. through July. The lounge will open one hour prior to all Golden Knights games. Go Knights Go!
“Sinology and Sin City: A Brief History of the Chinese in Las Vegas”
Honoring the Chinese community who influenced and continue contributing to the growth of Las Vegas, writer, historian, retired professor from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) and Neon Museum’s Scholar in Residence, Dr. Sue Fawn Chung, will be giving a lecture on Wednesday, May 26 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Her lecture, “Sinology and Sin City: A Brief History of the Chinese in Las Vegas” will discuss the migration of Chinese laborers to Las Vegas, the ever-growing Chinese entertainment and restaurants on the Strip and much more. “Hot Trash” at Majestic Repertory Theatre
Looking for some sexy entertainment with a twist? “Hot Trash” is a risque, avante-garde production set up in the likeness of a 1970s Times Square peep show with cabaret vibes. Guests will watch a variety of steamy performances from behind a plexiglass window. Sizzling acts will be performed by former “Voice” contestant, Sophia Urista, Vegas performer from “Opium,” Isabella Schleiker and many more. The show will open on Tuesday, May 4th and run from Tuesday to Thursday with showings at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.. “Hot Trash” will be 60 minutes without an intermission. Ferraro’s Spring Dinner and Happy Hour Menu
Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar is serving a fresh springtime dinner and Happy Hour menu (“Ora Sociale”). While guests may still order their classic favorite dishes, here are a couple of the latest creations by Executive Chef Mimmo Ferraro: Fagottini Bresaola, made with filet mignon, ricotta, Parmigiano Reggiano, marinated artichokes, arugula and lemon; and on their “Ora Sociale” menu try the Zucchini Farciti, prepared with seasoned breadcrumbs, Reggiano, grande mozzarella, aged balsamic, lemon and radicchio.
