There are few structured learning opportunities within the professional lifespan to provide comprehensive learning about the various areas of gaming regulation. This certificate program provides exposure to all areas of the regulatory ecosystem and establishes a baseline of knowledge for those who interface with the regulated land-based casino environment. Delivered by expert faculty in an executive education classroom format, the curriculum has been strategically designed by academic faculty and regulatory practitioners at the International Center for Gaming Regulation to provide a holistic understanding of the primary aspects of gaming regulation. Topics covered include: Day 1: Current Issues in Gaming Regulation and Public Policy; Pre-Licensing Investigations & Suitability Standards; Financial and Company Investigations Day 2:Understanding Casino Game Play - Craps, Blackjack, Baccarat, & Roulette; Casino Audit and Internal Controls; VIP Gaming, Credit Issuance & Debt Enforcement; Current Issues in Gaming Enforcement and Patron Dispute Process Day 3: Technology & the Casino Environment; Compliance, AML, and Disciplinary Actions; A Primer on Sports Betting; Internet Gambling; and The Casino of the Future" Day 4: Casino tour Program content and order are subject to change based on faculty and site visit availability. FAQs Who can attend this event? Open to anyone interested. This includes gaming regulators from any function - enforcement, audit, licensing, etc. - who aspire to a senior leadership role within their jurisdiction and need enterprise-wide exposure to the entirety of the regulatory process. The program also welcomes commissioners, legislators, policy makers and stakeholders from new gaming jurisdictions. Operators or manufacturers who may be new to the industry or need a refresher on the regulations and processes that govern their industry may also attend. What is included in the registration fee? The fee includes all classroom materials and a certificate of completion from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A lunch each day will also be provided. All other expenses, including airfare, accommodations, ground transportation, evening meals, and incidentals are the responsibility of the participant. Is transportation or parking available? We encourage participants to arrive either by taxi, Uber or Lyft. However, parking passes can be reserved for a limited number of spaces at the classroom site on the UNLV campus. What is the attire for the program? The attire is comfort / business casual. What is the refund policy? 1. In the event a course is canceled, registrants will be notified as soon as possible and receive a full refund of their registration fee. The International Center for Gaming Regulation is not responsible for any travel and related expenses or other expenses incurred by any participant due to a course cancellation. 2. A service fee of Twenty Percent (20%) will apply to all participant initiated cancellations received three (3) weeks prior to the event. 3. A service fee of Fifty Percent (50%) will apply to all participant initiated cancellations received two (2) weeks (14 days or less) prior to the event. In the event you need to cancel, you may substitute another person to attend in your place. However, you will need to inform us in writing no later than two (2) business days prior to the start of the event. 4. All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing. Refunds granted for credit card charges will be credited to the original account charged. No refunds will be given in the event of No Shows. Refunds may take up to 4 weeks for processing.
