The Las Vegas Songwriters Association (LVSA) is flying in STEVE BLOCH from Nashville for a song seminar and SONG PITCH SESSION, where Mr. Bloch will listen to and evaluate original songs for possible placement in the country music industry. More about Steve Bloch: Nashville consultant, publisher and songplugger Steve Bloch has been listening to music in this town for over two decades and is known for having a great and honest ear. He is the founder of Southern Cow Music, and Writer Zone Music, LLC, and currently consults for Demolition Music Publishing. He also listens for Doug Johnson, creative head of Black River Entertainment, whose artists include Kelsea Ballerini, Craig Morgan, Jacob Davis, and Abby Anderson, among others. Steve is a frequent guest of many songwriter festivals, workshops, and publisher nights, including the West Coast Songwriters Association, the Durango Songwriters Expo, the Arizona Songwriters Association, TAXI, and various NSAI, and SGA events. Says Steve: "Foremost, I'm a country listener. I'm looking for what your writers feel best represent who they are. What are they most proud of that they are putting forth in song? I prefer heart to clever. I love visual lyrics with real characters with real concerns. I want to be made to feel something." We are a small but passionate group of songwriters that began here in Las Vegas over 25 years ago. During that time some of our members have been fortunate enough to get songs recorded and placed on country music radio charts, although many of our music business contacts now actively seek pop songs also. We welcome members from all songwriting styles. We recently also became a branch affiliate of the Tennessee Songwriters Association International (TSAI). LVSA meets weekly here at a facility in Las Vegas and either play our songs or read our lyrics (lyricists are always welcome) for each other to evaluate and to offer suggestions to improve our writing. The SONG PITCH SESSIONS, where we periodically fly a music industry professional into Las Vegas and put them up in a hotel, are normally reserved for members only. However, we are having a membership drive and new people are always welcome (see contact info below). This event is scheduled about a month from now on February 29, 2020.
