The Southern Nevada Health District in Las Vegas, NV will be hosting the first-ever Western Regional Academic Health Department Summit. The Public Health Foundation defines Academic Health Department (AHD) as a partnership formed by the formal affiliation of a health department and an academic institution that trains future health professionals. There are many benefits of AHD partnership; it helps strengthen the connection between public health and academia while decreasing the separation between the education of public health professionals and the practice of public health. Having an AHD enables the practice and academic communities to work together in order to develop the current and future public health workforce. The purpose of this summit is to elevate the discussion of AHD best practices and to strengthen current AHD partnerships while creating new ones. You dont want to miss this impactful event.
