New machines, innovations for eSports and enhanced sports betting showcased at G2E Expo

The Global Gaming Expo, better known as G2E, is in town and is underway starting today. G2E is, simply put, the spot where the gaming industry and gaming professionals come together, make connections and find better ways to engage us and keep us gaming in some form or another.
However, if you think that it’s just new slot machines and video poker games, well you would be right. But, you are also super wrong. G2E is so much more and you are selling it short. Sure, there is absolutely something to be said for new slots. Heck, most players are suckers for new ways to hit the big one. But what is happening at the Venetian Expo right now is also eSports, new table games and enhanced ways for sports betting.
Speaking of sports betting, since the last time G2E was held here in Vegas, a year before last (COVID shut down G2E 2020), there have been monumental moves in the world of game wagering. Sports betting is now legal in 26 states doubling the market with Arizona being the closest state to do so. That in addition to the National Football League partnering with BetMGM and WynnBet as preferred partners, in addition to Caesars Entertainment, it should come as no shocker that Arizona Cardinal owner Michael Bidwell will be the final keynote speaker at the G2E Event.
Companies like IGT, Scientific Games, and Aristocrat will all have new games and machines to look at and fawn over. And because this is Vegas, there will also be some pomp and circumstance along with the event. “Wheel of Fortune” star Vanna White will be around to host a charity slot tournament in honor of the “Wheel of Fortune” slot machine turning 25.
The Global Gaming Expo is underway now and goes through October 7. It is happening at the Venetian Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on October 7 when it closes at 3 p.m. Virtual attendance is an option. More information can be found on that and the health and safety guidelines for G2E at their website.
