Double Dose of RuPaul in Las Vegas

Serious fans of iconic drag queen RuPaul can get a whole lotta Mama Ru in Vegas. Take a pic with his latest wax figure, or take in his reopened show at the Flamingo.

Oh honey, if one of anything is good, then having two is fabulous. RuPaul knows that only too well. The iconic entertaining trailblazer with five Primetime Emmys to his name has a second wax figure here in Vegas at Madame Tussauds. The first was revealed 20 years ago at Madame Tussauds New York and was history making as it was the first drag queen wax figure, ever.

The newly revealed one in Vegas is a special one to RuPaul because, “I’m doing this one out of drag. This is my male persona, which in recent years has become just as famous as my drag persona.”  As per usual there was painstaking care taken in every detail of the latest wax figure as evidenced by the more than 200 measurements it took to complete. Visitors to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas will also get to see a shorter version of the masterclass delivered by Mama Ru as they sashay down the Rainbow Runway. Tickets to see the newest figure are available at Madame Tussauds website

Not only is RuPaul an old pro in the wax figure game, he is certainly a welcome veteran of Vegas. His show Ru Paul’s Drag Race Las Vegas is back on the strip at the Flamingo Showroom inside the Flamingo. Famous queens Asia O’Hara, Derrick Barry, Kameron Michaels, Naomi Smalls, Vanessa “Vanjie” Matteo and Yvie Oddly will bring some serious attitude and talent to the stage.  Shows are Thursdays to Mondays at 9:30 p.m.

Go early too and get your glam on inside the Werk Room. Unique merch and the chance for a makeover is available to you daily starting at 4 p.m. Tickets for the show are available at the Flamingo website.

Honestly, if you are a RuPaul fan, and you live in Vegas or are visiting Vegas, you have no excuse not to pay homage to the most successful drag queen of all time.
