Take today’s paycheck to the bank and break it into singles. New strip club, Peppermint Hippo Las Vegas, celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, April 2 with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by an open bar and an after hours DJ set by Los Angeles Leakers’ Justin Credible.

Located at 1531 Las Vegas Blvd S. in the building that housed the legendary Olympic Garden, the Peppermint Hippo team has worked meticulously since December to completely overhaul the more than 20,000 square feet, two-story space. The result is a venue with an upscale, energetic nightclub vibe.

Perks at the Peppermint Hippo

When you enter, you’re greeted by its mascot, Pepper, in the form of a hulking steel sculpture built to the scale of a real hippo. There’s a bar situated just behind Pepper. To the right is the main room. It features a stage, bar, seven bottle booths and four VIP suites. To the left is the second room, which also features a stage, bar, six bottle booths and additional VIP rooms. Admission is $50.

new Developments Coming Soon

What you see this weekend is just a taste of what’s to come. According to Derick Opela, director of services at Peppermint Hippo, the second floor is still under construction and will be unveiled in a second phase. There’s also a lounge that will open soon. That room will also be used to record an upcoming podcast series that will focus on the strip club and nightlife industries and will feature special guests, Derick says.

After hours Parties on the Weekends

The 24/7 venue will feature DJs and after hours parties every Friday and Saturday, among other events.

Founded by Alan Chang, the Las Vegas Peppermint Hippo is one of seven Peppermint Hippos throughout the country, including one in Reno.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Peppermint Hippo!
