9 Ways to Support Tyler Foundation for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Help fight the battle against childhood cancer

By Melissa Gill | Las Vegas, NV

“Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday,” according to the American Childhood Cancer Association (AACO).

The non-profit organization conceived by Vegas band, Imagine Dragons, Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF), is dedicated to helping children battling with cancer. For National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the charity organization is offering several ways individuals can contribute to helping children and families during troubled times. TRF has supported over 1,500 families around the world. Since it started eight years ago, the Foundation has raised more than $10 million. More than 85 Percent of every dollar TRF raises is directly given to families in need.

This September, the non-profit hosts exciting events, brand partnerships and other opportunities that encourage the community to help them in working towards slaying cancer with the Dragons. There are several ways individuals can come together to pitch in. Whether you want to show support by purchasing with purpose or by attending a TRF event, the Foundation invites everyone to come together to strengthen support. Here are nine ways to pay it forward in September.

Buy Cool Pins at Pinsanity

TRF teams up with Hard Rock Heals Foundation to support the cause at Pinsanity on Tuesday, September 7 through Thursday, September 9 at the Hard Rock Cafe. For those who love pins, this event is a great opportunity to collect new pins, trade pins and help a good cause all at once. Attend the silent auction featuring precious Hard Rock collectable pins, cafe memorabilia, plus a special pin made just for the occasion. Pins are fun accessories that add a snazzy touch to any outfit. Another bonus, registration for the event is free.

Play Ball with the Las Vegas Aviators

Support TRF by attending The Las Vegas Aviators benefit night at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin on Friday, September 10 starting at 7:05 p.m. During the game, TRF supporters can participate in special activations, stop by the TRF table or buy special tickets for outfield box seating priced at $20. A portion of the special tickets proceeds is going to benefit TRF. Tickets are now on sale. It’s a win-win for everyone!

Gift a “Paw You Need is Love” from Paw Keys

Ordering a “Paw You Need is Love” box for a cancer patient from Paw Keys is another way to show support. Each box comes with a TRF “Paw You Need is Love” t-shirt, a stuffed animal, a pair of TRF socks, a knit cap, 24-count box of Crayola Crayons, a “Paw You Need is Love” coloring book, a deck of playing cards, a can of Play-doh, a TRF heart-shaped squeezie and a “Paw You Need is Love” greeting card. Imagine a child’s face brightening up while opening a special surprise gift box sent from you. For every box sold, 20 percent of the proceeds are donated to TRF. Shop by using this link.

Book a Vacation through Charity Pro Travel

Go on a trip and support TRF simultaneously by booking a vacation package through Charity Pro Travel. They offer a myriad of services TRF supporters can purchase to meet their traveling needs including hotels, airfare and rental cars. The Charity Pro Travel is an international travel site that helps raise money for charities and non-profit organizations worldwide. Snack on Goody’s Original Popcorn

A fun snack to munch on is Goody’s Original Popcorn, a Vegas-based gourmet popcorn company. Apply “TRF” as the code before checking out to help support the non-profit organization. Buy popcorn, tins or merchandise from this cute popcorn shop. Nothing’s “butter” than supporting a good cause. Watch a movie and nibble on popcorn with a fuzzy feeling inside knowing your purchase makes a difference. Go to their website goodyslv.com to purchase this delish snack.

Wear Sweet TRF Merch

Show support for the foundation by purchasing their TRF designed beanies, socks, shirts and other merchandise items. Not only will the money be donated to help children and families during unimaginably difficult times, but it will also help spread awareness when wearing it. TRF’s mission is to give support to strengthen children and their families, both emotionally and financially, as they experience the hardships of pediatric cancer. The donations go towards the “out-of-pocket” life expenses that families face when they get the tragic news of their child’s cancer diagnosis.
