Geek Out at the Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival

The first 600 guests will receive a commemorative cloth face mask

After missing out in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival returns for its 13th year at the Clark County Library (1401 E. Flamingo Road).

The event takes place on Saturday, November 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, celebrating the wide world of comic books in a family-friendly setting.

Festival-goers can enjoy an array of activities, such as writing and drawing workshops, a screening of the “Looking for Leia” documentary, craft making, temporary body art stations, and panel discussions about self-publishing and voice acting.

There will also be a live musical performance by voice-over actor and singer Bonnie Gordon of the nerd pardy band, the Library Bards.

This year’s lineup of guests includes:

Amy Chu – TV and Comics Writer (DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, Poison Ivy)

Alan Evans – Webcomics Creator and Writer (Rival Angels, The Dreamer)

Russell Lissau – Comics Writer (Batman: War Games, The Hardways)

Zack Davisson Award-Winning Translator, Folklorist, and Writer (Demon Days: X-Men, Wayward)

Mark Russell – Comics Writer (Fantastic Four: Life Story, God Is Disappointed In You)

Douglas Wolk – Pop Culture Critic, Teacher, and Writer (All of the Marvels)

Attendees can visit a plethora of vendor booths in the courtyard marketplace to purchase comics, toys, and other collectibles.

They will also be able to meet artists, writers, and independent publishers in the multi-room Artist Alley area.

Several local food trucks will be curbside to provide snacks and libations throughout the day, but make sure you clean your hands before touching any comic books! For those hungry after the event, Saturday is also National Nacho Day.
