Feel-Good News About Life Is Beautiful Festival-Goers to Brighten Your Day

Seven concert-goers share their thoughts about this year's festival

Every year, about 170,000 people attend Life Is Beautiful, an annual three-day arts and music festival in Las Vegas. The festival’s main attractions are the music, food, drinks, art, and comedy, but without the attendees, it would be meaningless. The locals and tourists who come to the three-day event each year make it truly unique.

We spoke with a few attendees at Life Is Beautiful to get their opinions on their favorite musical performers, who they would like to see on the lineup next year, and why they find life to be beautiful.

Name: Patrick Matthew

Age: 38

From: I live in Vegas.

How would you describe Life Is Beautiful?

It’s beautiful. I just got here, but I mean, it’s my first year actually doing it, but I love it so far. I mean, I love that it’s literally a 20 minute drive from my house.

Which music headliner are you most excited to see this year and why?

Today? Probably Bob Moses. Probably put him up there. Who else? Kygo I want to see again. Jungle.

If you could change something about the festival what would it be and why?

The entrances, like we came in the back side. We parked back there at my friend’s house. And it was like shut all the way around. So like maybe a back entrance or like maybe an entrance on each side considering it’s in a city.

Who isn’t headlining this year that you want to see perform at Life Is Beautiful next year?

That’s a tough one because it’s such a diverse festival. Sophie Tucker should come here. I feel like she would fit well. Seven Lines is my favorite. But this isn’t a Seven Lines type vibe. Lane 8, I just saw him at Red Rocks last week. So, it’d be really cool.

Why is life beautiful to you?

This music right now is like literally my heart and soul. I’ve traveled so much I’ve been, like I said 13 festivals, 20 plus shows over the past year, kind of re-fell in love back with music all over again. It’s just beautiful and every time it’s perfect, like the weather’s perfect. It’s been very fortunate to be able to experience this.

Beautiful (spoken in unison followed by laughter)

Which music headliner are you most excited to see this year and why?

Jessica: Calvin Harris because I’ve been dying to see him since I was a child.
Daniel: Many. T-Pain is seeing them here. I believe a year ago when he was in a smaller stage, but now he has a full stage. And I’m excited to have been here for 4 plus years. I love this. So excited. This is her first time.

If you could change something about the festival what would it be and why?

Jessica: The weather, I’m just kidding they can’t control that.
Daniel: I told her it’s great this year. Trust me. It was worse [last year]. [They] have more water stations here this time, so it’s great. To me, honestly, nothing for me.
Jessica: Honestly, it’s a good time right now.

Who isn’t headlining this year that you want to see perform at Life Is Beautiful next year?

Daniel: Four Color Zack, The Great DJ. I seen him last year but he needs to be back this year. I want to see Diplo.
Jessica: Oh yeah, that would be fun. Diplo is always a good time.

Why is life beautiful to you?

Daniel: The people, her (points to Jessica), the artists. It’s just beautiful.
Jessica: Music, art, life [and] my cat.

How would you describe Life Is Beautiful?

A fun a** time

Which music headliner are you most excited to see this year and why?

I think T-Pain the most. I’m just a ’90s girl.

If you could change something about the festival what would it be and why?

Nothing. I’m doing great.

Who isn’t headlining this year that you want to see perform at Life Is Beautiful next year?

Fletcher

Why is life beautiful to you?

Everything.

Name(s): Taylor and Rebecca

Age(s): 24 and 22

From: Colorado

How would you describe Life Is Beautiful?

Taylor: It’s a lot bigger and like, has more stuff than I expected. It is my first time.
Rebecca: It is my first time, too. Super well thought out how they leveled out the curbs so no one can hurt themselves

Which music headliner are you most excited to see this year and why?

Taylor: Gorillaz
Rebecca: Rico Nasty. [Gorillaz] because it’s her favorite band. They are pretty much the reason that we came.

If you could change something about the festival what would it be and why?

Rebecca: Letting us have umbrellas. I’m sure a lot of people are getting hurt from heat exhaustion.
Taylor: No, actually, I think getting in was actually way easier than I thought it was. I was nervous about that process. I think just way more shaded areas, considering how hot and sunny it is, [that] would probably be my biggest thing.

Who isn’t headlining this year that you want to see perform at Life Is Beautiful next year?

Taylor and Rebecca: Megan Thee Stallion
Rebecca: Beyonce would be great, but that’s never going to happen.

Why is life beautiful to you?

Taylor: I think just being alive, having people that you love be with you.
Rebecca: The people in your life.

Megan Thee Stallion

Why is life beautiful to you?

That breath of life, nature, people, food, [and] money. Just having a breath of life in my body.
