Wynn Resorts moved up one spot to crack the top five just behind Las Vegas Sands, Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott
Las Vegas’ hospitality industry has had little to celebrate in the last year, but its most iconic resorts can still make headlines.
Fortune magazine has again named Wynn Resorts – owners and operators of Wynn Las Vegas and Encore – to its 2021 “World’s Most Admired Companies” list and ranked the hospitality brand No. 5 in the Hotels, Casinos and Resorts category. Wynn Resorts moved up one spot to crack the top five just behind Las Vegas Sands, Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Worldwide Holdings and the No. 1-ranked Marriott International.
Fortune’s rankings are based on conversations with executives, directors and analysts, judging criteria that includes quality of management, social responsibility, people management, global competitiveness and innovation.
Though Wynn Resorts, like all hotel brands on the Strip, was dealt a serious setback in 2020, the company gained widespread acclaim for being the first to make its COVID-19 plan public following the shutdown from mid-March to early June. The “Wynn Las Vegas Health and Safety Plan” has been viewed as a model for hospitality brands combatting the coronavirus pandemic.
Apple topped Fortune’s “Most Admired” list for the 14th year in a row, followed by Amazon, Microsoft, Walt Disney and Starbucks rounding out the top five.
