Pac-12 Championship to be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas

Watch the Oregon Ducks take on the Utah Utes this Friday

Football fans, are you ready for the Pac-12 Championship game of a lifetime? On Friday, December 3, 2021, Allegiant Stadium for the first-time ever will host the Conference Championship game at 5:00 p.m. PT.

Teams Playing

This year’s edition features the University of Oregon Ducks taking on the University of Utah Utes. It will be a rematch of their last game on Saturday, November 20, 2021, of the Pac-12 regular season. The Utes stunned the Ducks 38-7 at home, knocking Oregon down to number 10 in the College football playoff rankings.

The Ducks entered the game with 10 wins and 2 losses on the season. They finished 7-2 in the Pac-12 conference with their last win being over rivals the Oregon State Beavers 38-29. The Beavers finished with a surprising 7-5 record overall (5-4 in the Pac-12).

The Utes entered the game with 9 wins and 3 losses on the season. They finished 9-1 in Pac-12 conference, finishing the season with a 28-13 win at home over the Colorado Buffaloes. They finished with a disappointing 4-8 regular season record (3-6 in the Pac-12).

According to Sports Book Wire, the Utes are projected to win 27-24.

Why Allegiant Stadium Now?

Since 2011, the Pac-12 Championship game has been held at collegiate stadiums all on the west coast, near the state of Nevada. In 2011, it was held at Autzen Stadium in Oregon. This is where the Ducks play all of their home games. The Ducks won over the UCLA Bruins 49-3.

The 2012 version was held at Stanford Stadium where the hometown Stanford Cardinals defeated the UCLA Bruins 27-24. The last two versions took place in California. Where the Ducks just happened to win both of those games. The Ducks are looking for the 3-peat.

It’s a great time to have this year’s version at Allegiant Stadium, because it’s never been held in Nevada.

Last Pac-12 game played in 2013 @ Sun Devil Stadium with highest attendance record since 2011

Attendance

The largest crowd in the last ten-years of this game was 69,135 in 2013 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. By having this year’s game at a recently built state-of-the-art stadium like Allegiant Stadium, it would break the record of attendance. The hope is that more younger people from the West Coast will be touring Vegas, while cheering on their represented school.

Where to Watch/Tickets

Coverage of the event will start at 5:00 p.m. PT on Friday, December 3, 2021, on ABC. The game will also stream on Hulu, as it has all the live sports coverage for $64.99 annually.

The parking lots at Allegiant Stadium will open to the general public at 2:00 p.m. Doors opens at 3:00 p.m.

Be sure to snag Pac-12 Championship tickets before it’s too late.

For the first-time ever at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, college football fans will watch two great teams battle it out for a Conference Championship trophy.

It should be an exciting time for college football fans and the entire city of Las Vegas!

Here are all the best sports bars to hit after the game.
