Five Bars, One Night on Las Vegas’ Fremont Street Experience

A Holiday Bar Crawl to Lift Your Spirits this Christmas Weekend

Off The Strip is celebrating the holiday season with a 30-days of stories counting down to the big day Dec. 25! Our #WYD Holiday Guide features all the best places to go, experiences to have, festive displays, party destinations, holiday cocktails and dinners—plus where to shop local and cool ways to give back! Check out the features »

It’s a season for drinking – and Las Vegas has so many holiday cocktails, it’s hard to keep track of them all. Yet between all the specialty menus and festive pop-up bars, you may still want a holiday drinking experience that allows you to enjoy the sights and sounds of Las Vegas in one of its most iconic tourist spots, the Fremont Street Experience.

Dashing Through the Bars

Legacy Club

So drink your way through the holidays with the Dashing Through the Bars crawl, which provides five drinks from five bars for one price. The event begins at the Legacy Club, a lounge that’s “elevated” in more ways than one. The space sits on the 60th floor of Circa with dramatic 360-degree views and a timeless, upscale aesthetic. Choose between Ya Filthy Animal (Redemption Bourbon, Kahlua, Foro Amaro, bitters, five spice and egg white with a cherry and nutmeg) or Son of a Nutcracker (Buffalo Trace, Laird’s Apple Brandy, Barspoon Fernet Branca, Avua Amburana, spice syrup and cranberry with a sugar cookie garnish).

Vegas Vickie’s

From there, head down to Vegas Vickie’s, a Circa casino lounge named after an iconic neon marquee of a cowgirl that once illuminated Fremont Street, but now serves as the space’s main decoration. Your cocktail choices are Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer (Jameson Black Barrel in Abuelita hot chocolate with Angostura bitters, ancho reyes and vanilla cream) or Vickie’s Mistletoe (Skyy Citrus, Giffard White Crème de Cacao, Frangelico and Green Crème de Menthe with heavy cream).

Mega Bar

You still have a third stop at Circa before continuing with the crawl. Visit Mega Bar and sip on the sweet-and-sour Miracle on Mega Bar with Maker’s Mark, cranberry juice, sour mix and ginger beer with a cherry garnish. Mega Bar is named after the length of its bar top, which spans 165 feet, making it the longest indoor bar in the state of Nevada.

One Bar

It’s now time to brave the winter temperatures and head across Fremont Street to the Golden Gate, the oldest casino hotel still operating in Downtown Vegas. The property first opened as the Hotel Nevada in 1906 and you can soak in all that history by playing tourist with a frozen cocktail from One Bar. Take your pick of strawberry, pina colada, blueberry lemonade and other options served by a bikini-clad bartender.

BarCanada

The final stop on the crawl is BarCanada. Located on the second level of The D hotel, the bar pays tribute to our northern neighbors and as expected, is a great place to catch a hockey game. Your final drink of the evening (unless you choose to continue on your own) is the Moose Toe, a smooth combination of Knob Creek, amaretto, ginger ale and bitters with an orange slice as garnish.

The Dashing Through the Bars holiday crawl runs through December 30. Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased online. Just pick them up at the Circa concierge desk with a valid ID.

Sightseeing at fremont Street

Drinking is only part of the holiday fun. The bar crawl allows you to see the sights and sounds of the Fremont Street Experience during one of the busiest times of the year. While roaming down the five-block pedestrian mall, look for the 42-foot-tall Christmas tree near the 3rd Street stage.

Gaze overheard and you’ll see winter imagery on the Viva Vision video canopy. At 1,375 feet long and 90 feet wide, the largest video screen in the world presents shows at the top of the hour each night from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Soak in the sights from the air with a ride on Slotzilla, a two-level zip-line that sends passengers flying either 7 or 11 stories above Fremont Street (although this may be a better choice before the bar crawl instead of after).
