Experience a Friendly Fright at HallOVeen This Fall

Stroll through a haunted cemetery filled with welcoming witches and ghouls

By Melissa Gill

HallOVeen at the Magical Forest returns this year. HallOVeen is a family-friendly event held at Opportunity Village. Opportunity Village is a non-profit organization that helps locals in the Southern Nevada community by working with people that have significant intellectual disabilities. The gates are set to open on October 8. This Halloween experience takes guests through a haunted cemetery filled with decorated trees, jack-o-lanterns, plus friendly ghouls and witches. This 2.5 acre park spooky adventure will include rides, nightly entertainment, midway carnival games and trick-or-treat stations for the kiddos. Due to COVID, last year the Forest stood idle, but this year it will light up again for the holidays. Costumes are encouraged!

Take a Ride on the Spooky Side

Hop on the Whirl ‘n Twirl, Enchanted Carousel, Blizzard Mini-Coaster and the Forest Express Passenger Train for a thrill. For a little friendly competition, race down the 50-foot-tall Avalanche Slide against friends and family. Play Rod’s Mini Golf, an 8 hole course, to see if you can score a hole-one-shot. Try your luck on popular carnival games like Ring Toss, Duck Pond, Goblet Toss and Ball in the Bucket. Each game only costs $5. After they are finalized, special theme nights during the festivities will be announced on their social media and website.

Explore New HallOVeen Activities

This year HallOVeen has a few new tricks up its sleeve. Admission to the Halloween experience this fall also includes access to two mini-escape rooms and ALL the rides. Putting your wits to the test, the mini-escape room challenges take about five minutes to complete. See if you and your family and friends have what it takes to “escape.” For the parents, there is a new treat, too. Opportunity Village’s spooktacular occasion will also feature their new Happy Hideaway beer and wine garden for ages 21 and up. The Hideaway will be located in the back of the park behind the Train Depot.

Want to spruce up your Instafeed? This event includes tons of great photo opportunities to add new content to your Insta. HallOVeen decor and festivities are an influencer’s dream. Snap photos with your favorite forest tree in a costume with friends and family. Group photo ops will also be found at the festivity. The event team members are happy to take photos for you around the forest. Be sure to tag #HallOVeen when you post.

Grab a Bite While Out for a Friendly Fright

Not only will the Forest offer fun entertainment for all ages, the HallOVeen experience also will feature food trucks serving a variety of goodies. Snack on everything from pizza to corn dogs. Plus, the venue now has a seating area that’s more spacious than ever before.

To satisfy that sweet tooth craving, don’t forget to stop by the Candy Cabin adorned in Halloween decorations. Also browse around the Neon Kiosk to find fun costume accessories and light-up toys for the kids. Souvenirs are delightful treasures and happy little reminders of a fun night out.
