Recap: A Truly GLAM Evening in the Sky at Ghostbar

Legendary drag queens and performers graced Ghostbar to kick off 2023

Last Sunday, the only things higher than the Palms Ghostbar were the heels sported by some fabulous attendees.

GLAM at Ghostbar

On Sunday, January 22, local LGBTQ+ group QLife hosted its first-ever GLAM: The Fabulous Las Vegas Rooftop Party at Palms Resort. Despite a freezing, windy forecast, an edgy and upscale group of Las Vegas’s LGBTQ+ community attended a party that lasted late into the night. This is the first in a series of monthly parties hosted by Ghostbar.

Standout performances and sightings included:

Nebraska Thunderf*ck, who appeared in season five of Rupaul’s Drag Race alongside her drag mother, Alaska. Nebraska stunned in a low-cut blue number with sky-high hair and a packed arsenal of one-liners that instantly won over the crowd.

An impersonator of Las Vegas’s favorite weekender: Adele, was played by Nadia M. Luis. She crooned, collected cash and charmed everyone through lip-synced performances of “Hello” and “Set Fire To The Rain,” among others.

The Golden Gays, a nationally-touring troupe that has made appearances at Notoriety on Fremont Street and throughout the city, also attended the soiree. Decked out in pearls and silvery wigs, the girls depicting Blanche, Rose and Dorothy.

Other show-stoppers included Esani Tsunami as Tina Turner and Devin Baker as Fergie, delivering performances alongside go-go dancers of all genders. Above all, the crowd was in full festive mode, cheering on the performers and bestowing cash tips throughout the evening.

Co-owner of QVegas Garrett Pattiani was a fetching fixture at the event. He expressed his excitement about the Palms’ involvement in the LGBTQ+ community of Las Vegas, through their continued events including HalloQween and various Pride Month events.

“It makes a huge impact for our community to be seen and celebrated in such a big way,” said Pattiani in a statement. “Locals and tourists have another mainstream hotel embracing and celebrating with us. This is a huge win for the entire city of Las Vegas. There’s nothing else like this here, so we are excited to bring something new to the scene. This is a chance for everyone to show off their creativity. This is also a great opportunity to build a stronger relationship with our allies, especially ones that are authentic in their desire to champion equality.”
