Dog owners grab the balls and the bones and head out to Cashman Field. The Las Vegas Lights FC are hosting “Paws on the Pitch” this Saturday, August 21.  The USL team is hoping to score a doggone good time for you, your family,  and your furry friend with some K-9 friendly activities.

Get your pregame on with a perfect “PAW-rade” on the match field for all dogs. Then, during halftime, a few preselected pooches will set their paws on the pitch for the “Doggie Olympics” where a few events will happen. Interested owners who want their furry friend to be considered need to nominate their pet at LightsFC.com/DogsNight. Post game all dogs will be allowed on the field with their owners-hopefully celebrating a big Lights FC Win.  Owners are asked to make sure their pups are well behaved and leashed.

For the two-legged, non-dog owning humans, here is what you need to know. The Lights are taking on the Oakland Roots SC with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. If you show your America First Credit Union Card at the box office you get two free tickets to the match. Or, if you patronize Denny’s and buy an eggs benedict meal you get one free Lights ticket. But, if you wanna buy your own, tickets are affordable and priced as low as $5 dollars.

The Lights are coming off a 5-1 loss on Wednesday against the San Diego Loyal. They are currently in seventh place (17 points) in the Pacific Division of the USL. Coincidentally, they are just about the Oakland Roots SC who are in the eighth position (11 points).

As always, check ahead of time for changing safety and health guidelines regarding mask mandates. More info can be found at their website.
