Celebrate National Relaxation Day in Las Vegas

Treat yo’ self at these serene spas in Sin City

By Melissa Gill

Back in 1985, fourth grader Sean Moeller founded National Relaxation Day (August 15), says National Day Calendar. In an interview with Valerie Monson for Des Moines Register, Moeller told her the proper way to celebrate this holiday is to not do anything of value like cleaning or running errands. I think Moeller was ahead of his time. This day recognizes the importance of making time to relax and just be. This sounds like the perfect opportunity to treat yo’ self to a Swedish massage or a mani-pedi combo at a soothing spa. For National Relaxation Day, here are five spas on the Las Vegas Strip to escape to destress this Sunday.

Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace

Step into an ancient Roman-inspired spa ready to release all the tensions brought on from a long week. Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace is a 50,000-square foot oasis offering a wide range of signature treatments and spa services. Book their 50 minute all-natural facial, Qua emerginC Scientific Organics Facial with a Paraffin Hand Treatment ($230). With botanical, pure ingredients this service nourishes skin with an antioxidant-rich plant and marine extract. Combined, this skincare treatment hydrates skin and improves skin tone. Leave the spa glowing after a rejuvenating experience.

Voie Spa & Salon at Paris

Indulge in a spa inspired by France’s countryside at Voie Spa & Salon at Paris Las Vegas. Go all in and try their Voie Luxe Combination ($345). This 100 minute luxurious spa experience engages guests by adding sensory details. Voie Luxe Combination begins with an Aromatherapy custom massage. Inspired by France, they offer lavender as a scent from Provence, cedar and cypress as aromas from France’s forests, notes of jasmine inspired by French Polynesia or sweet orange from Corsica. Following the aromatherapy massage, they give guests an Anti-Aging Facial that relaxes the face muscles and soothes skin. Oui-Oui!

Spa at The LINQ

Spa at The LINQ features a variety of ways to get lost in a blissful experience. This spa includes eucalyptus steam rooms, Himalayan Salt Caves, plus a spa lounge and pool. Don’t limit yourself to these options because they also offer spa treatments to help you unwind after a long week. Enjoy this National Relaxation Day by booking the Restoration Mind and Body Massage ($99). This sweet retreat stimulates circulation with Swedish massage techniques applying light to medium pressure and by calming down tense muscles. Sit back and relax this Sunday.

COLOR Salon at Caesars Palace

Caesars Palace makes the list again for spa spots to try on the Strip, but this time it’s for the mani-pedi combo. This glamorous beauty boutique offers both superb hair and nail services. This Sunday book their Signature LALICIOUS Manicure and Pedicure with Paraffin (manicure $100, pedicure $125) Get that Insta-worthy manicure that will have you feeling yourself. Then, sit back and relax as the salon experts pamper your tired feet with their sugar cane scrub which delicately exfoliates the skin. After the exfoliation, they deeply moisturize your feet with an aloe vera-infused body butter. Believe me, it’s worth it!

Spa at Flamingo

For a more simplistic yet soothing spa day, try the Spa at Flamingo. This spa offers a sauna, eucalyptus steam room, whirlpool tubs among many other calming amenities. If this is your first time treating yourself, go for their Signature Facial ($99) or Signature Massage ($99). The Signature Facial treatment hydrates and nourishes the skin, plus they apply a face mask customized to fit your needs. The Signature Massage service applies a blend of light to medium pressures giving guests a classic Swedish massage experience. If you are looking to splurge, get both spa treatments. Massages and facials are a great way to relieve stress and lower blood pressure.
