October’s Concert lineup will be the ultimate rock fan’s dream
By Jason R. Latham
Fresh off an “Unstoppable Weekend” opening bash bolstered by the likes of Christina Aguilera and Hangover favorite Flo Rida, Richard Branson’s Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and AEG Presents have announced the first run of live concerts at the property – a blend of familiar (and not so familiar) names spanning multiple music genres.
Grammy winner Gary Clark Jr. will officially christen The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on September 11; followed by country trio Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum), who will bring their “What Can A Song Do” tour to the Theater on September 25; and “Shelter” artist Porter Robinson on September 30.
Virgin Hotels will host four concerts in October: “Best on Earth” Rapper Russ will bring his “Tour Before the Tour” show to the Theater on October 8; Dropkick Murphys and Rancid (with special guests The Bronx) will play October 15; Machine Gun Kelly will take a break from Page Six spreads with Megan Fox to play the following night, October 16; and Primus will stage a live cover of Rush’s 1977 album “A Farewell to Kings” in its entirety when they take the stage October 24.
Karol G’s “Bichota Tour” will arrive at the Theater on November 6; and country group Little Big Town will perform December 3 and 4, just as the 2021 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo hits Las Vegas.
Surely, there will be more announcements to come as Virgin Hotels looks to capitalize on the city’s comeback and further separate itself from its Hard Rock Hotel origins. In addition to programming the Theater, Virgin has transformed a section of the property’s outdoor space into an “Event Lawn” for open-air concerts; and Elia Beach Club, conceived on the site of the former Rehab space, has lined up deejays Hook n Sling, Chris Malinchak, and Autograf – with more to come – to perform for the sun-soaked weekend crowds.
