Alex Rodriguez, Marie Osmond, Santana and the Las Vegas Aces were all in attendance

Just win baby. And just win they did. The Las Vegas Raiders put a ‘W’ in their first ever preseason game inside Allegiant Stadium with a score of 20-7 over the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night.
For those ‘it’s just preseason, it doesn’t matter’ folks. You are right. It is preseason. But since when has Vegas ever done anything that doesn’t matter? Insert mic drop here.
This was the first time that fans were allowed inside the newly built Allegiant Stadium. A palace by all accounts, it was built for the first-ever National Football League team in Las Vegas and cost nearly $2 billion to build. Once completed it sat empty because of the pandemic. That is until Saturday night when 65,000 fans, also known as The Raider Nation, came and conquered Allegiant.
They were joined by some heavy hittin’ Vegas names too. Getting things kicked off was former Las Vegas headliner Marie Osmond. She took to the field and belted out the National Anthem. Osmond posted pics to her social media account of her sound check the day before and made sure to do a little rolling around in the grass. Then in true Marie Osmond fashion she took fans on a tour of the stadium.

Among the 65,000 in attendance was 14 time MLB All-Star Alex Rodriguez. The former Yankee donned all in Raider gear cheered on the Las Vegas team.
The Olympic Gold Medal winning ladies of the Las Vegas Aces were also in the house. A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young all added a little gold to the silver and black.
Then during halftime Wilson showed off her dancing moves by grooving to Carlos Santana.
Santana, a longtime member of Raider Nation, was the halftime performer for the first preseason game.
All in all not too shabby for the first ever preseason game at Allegiant Stadium. That said, if it’s true that preseason doesn’t really count, we can’t wait for the regular season. First game is against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football on September 13.
