#JennaTries Noodle Den at Sahara Las Vegas

Jenna Nye tries making dumplings with a noodle master

By OTS Staff

OTS Media Founder Jenna Nye got a sneak peek at Noodle Den, which will open later this year at Sahara Las Vegas. She made dumplings with Chef Guoming “Sam” Xin, who received certification as a senior noodle technician in Beijing prior to moving to Las Vegas.

Will Jenna one day be a senior noodle technician, too? Watch her in action, and don’t sweat the technique.

What Jenna Tried

Jenna ate the vegetable dumplings made of sweet potato noodle, Chinese chives, eggs, five spice tofu and spices, including Szechuan peppercorn, star anise, sesame oil and ginger. She even took a dip into the special sauce.

As for the cocktails, she opted to try a trio of the newest libations from Casbar at Sahara …

The Aromatic AV8, made with Empress 1908 Gin, Crème de Violette, Lavender Syrup, Lemon Juice and Egg White, has a beautiful purple hue.

The Electric Feels gave Jenna all the feels with Grey Goose Vodka, White Cranberry, Vanilla Spice, Lemon Juice and Sparkling Wine and rimmed with electric dust that makes the tongue tingle.

And because it’s pink, the Mojave Margarita with Espolòn Reposado Tequila, Giffard Apricot, Prickly Pear Puree, Lime Juice and Agave Syrup and smoked with mesquite was the hands-down favorite

What Jenna Made

Jenna helped Chef Sam make some “very stylish” spicy wontons and perfected the delicate folding technique in no time at all.

The Deets

• Chef Sam is famous for his hand-pulled noodles.

• Noodle Den will feature Northern Chinese dishes and a demonstration kitchen.

• Chef Sam opened his first restaurant, Noodle City, in China two decades ago and previously worked at Wynn Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Caesars Palace.

• In 2015, he launched Noodle Man in Las Vegas, a Northern Chinese culinary concept featuring his hand-pulled noodles.
