Where to Go Loco For Cinco De Mayo in Las Vegas

Local spots perfect for margs and tequila

By Melissa Gill

Cinco De Mayo is sneaking up on us, but there’s still time to reserve your seat for a local fiesta. From Mariachi bands to “Siempre Caliente” cocktails, here’s a quick list of off the Strip festivities.

Mariachi Brunch

Makers & Finders will be hosting a Mariachi Brunch from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in celebration of Cinco De Mayo. Enjoy $25 All-You-Can-Drink Margaritas, Spicy Margaritas or Mexican Candy Shots. Also, snack on their tasty $3 tacos or %100 plant based El Jardín Burrito for $16. Music and margs? This sounds like the ultimate fiesta!

La Comida

In the East Fremont District, La Comida commemorates both their fourth anniversary and the Mexican holiday by serving their scrumptious “Siempre Caliente” cocktail, a mix of Herradura Blanco, passion fruit, fresh house sour mix and their special house hot sauce. Prefer something stronger? Try a shot of tequila; they offer over 100 different tequilas

El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina

Happy Hour at El Luchador is alway a good time, but it’s also the perfect place to get flavorful Mexican cuisine. To recognize the holiday, they are throwing a “Party on the Patio.” Happy Hour specials run on Mondays through Thursdays from 4:30 until 6 p.m. Steal one of their great deals, such as $2 tacos, $6 well drinks and $8 Luchador Margaritas. Also, bring your best dance moves for the live Mariachi band playing at 5:30 p.m.

“Cinco de Bingo”

Both Arizona Charlie’s properties (Decatur and Boulder) will be hosting “Cinco de Bingo” and will be serving margaritas, wearing sombreros and throwing in surprises for True Rewards members. Only during the 3 p.m. bingo session on May 5th, winners who hit bingo on a number ending in five will additionally receive $25 Free Play. Ole!

Lindo Michoacán

An off the Strip gem we can’t forget is Lindo Michoacán. This local favorite has served gourmet Mexican fare for over 12 years in the community. The Desert Inn location is closed for remodeling, but their Summerlin location is open. Have fresh tableside guacamole and sip on a Pina Bonita, a mixed drink with Mango Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Coconut Rum, pineapple juice and orange juice with a splash of lime on ice.
