Fremont Street Experience Is Hiring and Gatsby's Is Coming

An emoticon guide to Las Vegas’ top headlines

‘So We Beat On, Boats Against the Current …’

🍸 🎉 🎩 The good people at Resorts World know that when this is all over, we’re gonna need a drink. This week, we got word that Las Vegas fixture Clique Hospitality has been tapped to develop the next great cocktail destination inside the soon-to-open mega resort, and it will be named Gatsby’s.

The announcement comes on the heels of last week’s news that Wally’s Wine & Spirits—a celebrity favorite in Southern California—will open at Resorts World with a restaurant, wine bar and gourmet market. There’s no word on whether Gatsby’s will take design inspiration from The Jazz Age, but we know the menu will feature “aromatic wines” alongside vintage and rare champagnes and artisanal cocktails. That’s fine, we’ll order whatever as long as you promise Daisy’s going to show up.

Jabbawockeez Will Dance Again

🎶 🎭 🗓 Maybe it’s just us, but the more we see people getting vaccinated, and the more we hear about shows returning to The Strip, the more we want to dance! We’re not the only ones. On March 11, hip-hop dance crew the Jabbawockeez will bring their show “Timeless” back to Las Vegas, this time at MGM Grand Garden Arena. “Timeless” debuted in 2020—the 10th anniversary of the Jabbawockeez in Las Vegas–but never got a chance to wow the masses as the pandemic quickly shuttered entertainment throughout the resort corridor. Now, the Jabbawockeez will get a chance to showcase their latest concept Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets are on sale at mgmgrand.com and ticketmaster.com.

Fremont Street Sees Bright Summer Ahead

🎊 💡 👀 Fremont Street Experience has had no trouble drawing crowds during the pandemic. Can you imagine what it will be like when everyone is vaccinated? This week, the Downtown Las Vegas company announced a March 25 hiring fair as it prepares for “an unprecedented summer” under the city’s iconic canopy. If you’re looking for a gig, apply at the Vegas Experience website.

Suit Up for St. Jude”

🏥 ❤️ 👔 Off the Strip’s very own Jenna Nye needs your help to bring financial relief to families affected by childhood cancer. Nye and a handful of other local media personalities are raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital via this year’s “Stitched Presents: Suit Up for St. Jude” campaign. She’s more than halfway to her goal of raising $2,500, and the campaign is hoping to hit $35,000 before the end of March. If you can support the cause, donate via the St. Jude website.
