Fully Vaccinated Nevadans Unmask and Usher Schools Us on Cognac

An emoticon guide to Las Vegas' top headlines

Fully vaccinated Nevadans have the option to not wear a mask and apparently some men aren’t very intimidated by geese.

Fully Vaccinated Nevadans Can Leave Their Masks at Home

???? ????  ????   The Las Vegas Sun reported yesterday that Governor Sisolak issued an emergency directive to align Nevada’s masking requirements with the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. The directive went into effect immediately. To sum up the announcement, if you are fully vaccinated you don’t have to wear a mask according to the CDC, UNLESS you are taking a ride on a train, plane, bus or other public transportation. Then, you still need to wear a mask. If you haven’t had both vaccine shots yet, then you still are required to wear a mask.

However, some businesses may still require masks for service. Keep in mind that “Nevada also neither requires nor prohibits private companies from confirming the vaccination status of customers,” which means some people may choose to still wear a mask to take extra precaution.

But if you plan on going to a casino, the article states that the Nevada Gaming Control Board  announced “that all licensees will be allowed to follow the updated CDC and state guidance concerning mask-wearing.” COVID-19 isn’t gone, but the rates nationally and in Nevada are declining, says the source, which is the good news.

Las Vegas’ First Trade Show of the Year is Here

????  ????  ✈ The Tobacco Plus Expo aka TPE21 is back, says KTNV 13, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The convention began on May 12 and ends today on May 14. Attracting people from all over the country, those who are attending the event are scouting out the best deals and products connected to tobacco, CBD and vaping, says the source. Pandemic safety guidelines are still in effect to keep everyone as safe as possible. Whether you are a smoker or non-smoker, watching the convention center fill up with people again is a great comfort for our city’s tourism economy and a hopeful sign that more people will be headed here for vacations this summer.

Have You Heard About the MGM Stadium Walk Experience?

???? ????   ????  If the recent release of the Las Vegas Raiders 2021 schedule wasn’t enough to hype up football fans, just wait until they hear about the MGM Stadium Walk Experience. MGM Resorts press release announced that throughout the season Mandalay Bay Resorts and Casino and The Luxor Hotel & Casino are offering special hotel packages, sports-themed activities and live entertainment options. Both properties will be offering a “Strip to Stadium” hotel special including a food & beverage credit up to $150 per stay. Package pricing starts at $335 not including the taxes and fees.

The credit is accepted at the anticipated Budlight Beer Garden, located on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue, on the Las Vegas Strip. More than just a place to grab a cold one, this new venue will have interactive games including cornhole, life-size Jenga, football challenges and more. On game days, ambassadors from BetMGM, MGM Resorts’ sports wagering and gaming platform will be on site to educate bettors and fans on how to interact with their mobile sport accounts. This sounds like the place to be as Vegas adds sports to its already impressive variety of entertainment attractions.

Usher Collab Cognac Brand Rémy Martin Tells a Story

????  ????  ????  Sharing a story of the connections shared between music and cognac, Usher partnered with Cognac Brand Remy Martin to create a 6-minute piece featuring Usher himself paying homage to the multicultural confluences of music and cognac. Raphael Saddiq, who has produced songs for Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, John Legend and many other well-known talents, created an original score for the project with Premier Music Group.

Taking it all the way back to 1917 France, the locations shift from a French Jazz Club to a New York speakeasy to a Bronx block party and even an auto production line in this short film. Be immersed in this visceral video as Usher travels back in time to give us a quick history lesson.

???? ????  ????  Trending on Twitter right now are YouGov’s results of an American survey asking hypothetically which animals people think they could beat in combat? I jump when I see a spider so it’s surprising to see that “one in five men think they could beat a king cobra (23%) in a fight,” according to YouGov. What is this survey even? Check out op-ed columnist of the Washington Post and CNN commentator, Catherine Rampell’s trending Tweet below.

“Compared to women, men feel most able to take on medium-sized dogs and geese.”
