Red Rock Resort

There are certain things that just remind you of the holidays in Southern Nevada. Temperatures in the 60s. The Great Las Vegas Santa Run. That John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John Christmas album. And the return of the Merry Crimson pop-up at Red Rock Resort & Spa.

Once again, the resort has transformed one of the great Las Vegas nightclubs of the aughts – Cherry – into an indoor/outdoor holiday experience, complete with the fake snow and the ornaments and the fire pits and igloos and even a DJ who probably loves the Travolta/Newton-John rendition of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”

Debuting November 26, this year’s Merry Crimson theme is Tinsel Town, and in addition to serving as the season’s most Instagram-friendly destination, it’s also the home of inventive holiday spirits.

Just like those presents you’re wrapping, it’s all about the presentation, so Tinsel Town’s mixology team is going above and beyond traditional cocktail tumblers and martini glasses. Here are 10 that will probably end up in your Stories.

1. All My Friends Are (Snow)Flakes

Drinking out of a bulb ornament sounds like something the “It’s Always Sunny” gang would come up with, and frankly it’s surprising that they didn’t. But at Tinsel Town, you can enjoy this blend of Sipsmith, lemon, simple syrup, and, whoa, coconut-berry Red Bull.

2. Dear Santa, Next Year… I Promise

Drinking out of a bulb ornament is cool, but what about drinking from a mailbox? This fancy presentation – a combination of Ciroc, white crème de menthe, white cranberry strawberry, with a candy cane – is served in a tiny North Pole mailbox. Adorable.

3. Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

This is what we’re talking about. A snowman mug comprised of Rumchata, blue cream soda, pina colada sugar, and dry ice swizzle. It’s a light blue combination, lighter than that blue stuff barbers use to clean combs, so you know it’s safe to drink.

4. Gingerbread Kiss & Holiday Wishes

It’s a simple martini-shaped glass, but the best part of this drink — Captain Morgan Gingerbread Rum, Amaretto, gingerbread syrup, vanilla whipped cream, and a caramel drizzle – is the little gingerbread man that comes with it. You can dip him in there or play that little game where you break off all his limbs or pretend he’s drowning, whatever.

5. I Think Santa Might Be a Stalker

You could restock your entire collection of holiday drinkware at this Merry Crimson. The “I Think Santa Might Be a Stalker” comes in a Santa boot mug, and all you have to do to get one is enjoy a mix of Grey Goose, Chambord, lemon, and Moet Ice Imperial. Twist my arm, already.

6. “Milk” and Cookies for Santa

They made shot glasses out of gingerbread! That’s impressive, they earned a gold star for this idea. Plus, you get “chocolate milk” shooters and some “reindeer chow” snacks.

7. Nice Until Proven Naught

No fancy mug here, just a lovely mix of Stoli Vanilla, Bailey’s spiced demerara, and cream, with a festive sugar ring around the glass and some “latte art” on the surface.

Nostalgic for fall? Grab the last pumpkin drinks of the season before it’s too late.

8. Polar Espress(o)

Same goes for this one. A martini glass filled with a combination of Ketel One, nitro espresso (you won’t be going to sleep tonight), coffee liqueur, and vanilla. It even comes with an edible (not that kind of edible) chocolate Polar Express “ticket.”

9. Sleigh All Day

Tinsel Town takes the bulb-and-booze idea to the next level with this combination of Grey Goose shooters in small light bulbs – C7 or C9 shaped bulbs, for those in the know (or those who can Google). The whole package includes Cosmopolitan, melon sour, and blueberry lemonade flavors, and it all comes in a miniature sleigh!

10. You’re Such a Grinch

I don’t know how they found a beverage that matches the Grinch’s fur tone, but they did. This one’s a combination of Tito’s, Bombay Sapphire Bacardi, melon, and lemon Sierra Mist. It’s also served with pomegranate popping boba.

So there you have it, and that’s just 10 of what’s on the menu. Merry Crimson runs November 26 through January 1 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 5 p.m. to midnight on Sundays.
