WSET Level 2 Award in Wine & Spirits
The Level 2, intermediate level course is particularly helpful for those students working in the industry, or wine and spirits enthusiasts seeking to expand their knowledge. This course focuses on understand the factors behind quality, style, and price of the wines of the world. During class students will be guided through tastings assessing wine's quality and style. Students will be able to successfully identify low, mid, and premium quality wines, and the factors contributing to each cost. During this course students will: -Explore the major grape varieties and important wine regions from in which they are grown. -Learn the styles of wines produced from these grapes, as well as classification and labelling terminology. -Gain an overview of the production and key categories of spirits and liqueurs. -Learn how to accurately describe wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting® (SAT). All examination fees, tasting samples, and study materials are included. Students will taste a minimum of 40 wines (21+) This level requires outside study time and preparation prior to attending class. Exam will be taken at the end of Day 2. Successful candidates will receive a WSET certificate of completion and lapel pin. $799/student 2-day course, 10am-5pm each day
